Corpus Christi man killed in Goliad County crash

GOLIAD COUNTY – A two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Farm-to-Market Road 2442 in Goliad County resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Corpus Christi man and serious injuries to a Goliad man.

The Corpus Christi man, whose identity has not been released by the Texas Department of Public Safety, was traveling south in a 2001 Ford Explorer pickup at approximately 6:30 a.m. when his vehicle crossed the center stripe and struck a northbound 2011 Ford F-150 Pioneer Natural Resources pickup driven by 38-year-old Goliad resident Brett Bennett, according to the DPS report.

The Corpus Christi man was pronounced dead at the scene by Goliad County Justice of the Peace Susan Moore. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Bennett was transported by Goliad EMS to Citizens Medical Center in Victoria.
