BEEVILLE – Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville had to adapt to the shortage of water—which included canceling elective surgeries.

“Upon notification of the water break, Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville activated a response plan,” said Katy Kiser, spokeswoman for the hospital. “The hospital remains open for business. Our patients are being looked after.”

“All elective surgeries have been canceled,” she said that day.

Because of the water boil notice and the lack of water in general, bottled water was placed at all the nurses’ stations for those who needed it. They also brought in extra water drums to help with potable water.

“We are also working closely with city officials in their ongoing response,” she said.
