Aim for Success, Inc., will present their nationally acclaimed program that addresses the problems of teen pregnancies, the escalating STD epidemic and the traumatic, emotional pain that is often associated with teen sexual activity. The program will demonstrate to students that avoiding sexual activity until marriage provides freedom from pregnancies, STDs and regret while giving them the freedom to fulfill their dreams and goals!

The Parent Program will be held on Monday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at the GWISD catetorium. The Parent Program is a preview of the student presentation where parents will learn creative ways to talk about sex with their children and encourage them to avoid sexual activity until marriage. “This is a must see event for anyone concerned about the problems associated with teen sexual activity,” said Marilyn Morris, President of Aim For Success. Parents of George West ISD students and community guests are encouraged to attend.

The Student Program will be held on Tuesday, May 5 for grade levels 7 & 8 and 9-12 during school hours. “I think it is important to give our students factual information about sexual issues and abstinence. When faced with making choices, young people need all the information they can get in order to make a more informed decision. Many choices are based on emotion or incorrect information. Our attempt with the parent training and student workshops is to give them accurate, factual information so that they are well equipped when decision time comes,” said Robin Sellman, GWISD Director of Educational Services.

Informational letters and permission/denial information was sent through the mail to high school and junior high students last week. Parents who have questions about the training may contact Sellman at GWISD Administrative Offices. During the past 15 years, the Aim For Success, Inc. motivational program has educated over a million young people across America on topics covering the dangers of sex, drugs and alcohol.
