The GW boys plated two runs in each of the second and third frames to get the early 5-1 advantage. Longhorn hurler Jeremiah Farrell blanked the S-T boys for five innings after giving up the first inning Bobcat score. He ran into some late inning trouble in the top of the seventh and Alex Suniga came in to preserve the win and get the final out of the contest. The GW pitchers limited the S-T offense to just three hits on the night.
Michael Palacios stroked a double with two RBIs on the night for the Longhorns to highlight their hitting attack. Jake Galloway and Orin Kerr also had base hits in the win for the Horns.
Aaron Hughes started for the Bobcats and took the loss on the mound.
The Bobcats were at home on Tuesday night against the Odem Owls and on Friday night the S-T boys will travel to San Diego to tangle with the Vaqueros.
