Karnes County collection event set for March 29

The Karnes County Collection event for the collection of household hazardous waste, used tires, used electronics and pharmaceutical waste is set for Saturday, March 29 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Karnes County Youth Show Barn located just north of Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital.

The event is open to residents of Karnes County only and proof of address is required and businesses are not allowed to participate.

Examples of items to bring from home include acids, antifreeze, tires, batteries used motor oil and filters.

On the “what not to bring” list are items such as trailer or tractor tires, large appliances, compressed gas cylinders and construction and demolition debris.

The event is sponsored by Marathon Oil, Karnes County and the San Antonio River Authority.
