Beeville Special Olympic team brings back medals

The Special Olympic athletes at both A.C. Jones High School and Moreno Middle School recently competed at the Area II meet in Corpus Christi and several members of the Beeville team were presented medals.

A.C. Jones results

Aileen Garcia was fifth in the 50-meter run in the high school division and placed fourth in the softball throw.

Dolores Garcia captured the bronze medal in the 50-meter run and tied for fourth in the softball throw.

Lisa Gonzales captured a silver medal in the 50-meter run and won the gold in the softball throw.

Angel Southmayd crossed the finish line in fifth place in the 100-meter run and took home a bronze medal in the softball throw.

MMS results

Allie Bernal placed fifth in the 50-meter run. Bernal then earned a silver medal in the softball throw.

Joe Angel Lara was a gold medal winner in the softball throw competition.

Alex Salazar won a silver medal in the 100-meter run and another silver medal in the softball throw.

Isaac Stegemoller captured a bronze medal in the 50-meter run and was fifth in the softball competition.

“The students had a great time and they all did a great job. We are proud of you,” said Beeville Special Olympics coach David Henley.
