S-T Bobcats run well at district track meet

TAFT – The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats had several top five finishes at their district track meet on April 9-10 at the Greyhounds’ track.

Results of the district meet for the JV Bobcats included:

3,200-meter run

Val Ramirez, first, 12:31.7; Justin Hernandez, second, 13:31.8; Tyler Harris, third, 13:57.0.

800-meter run

Justin Hernandez, sixth, 2:37.0; Brady Carpenter, seventh, 2:44.2.

110-meter hurdles

Tim Diaz, second, 19.95.

100-meter dash

Rico Flores, fifth, 12.47; Sal Soto, seventh, 12.59.

800-meter relay

Soto, Ryan Hinojosa, Flores, Wyatt Scott, second, 1:43.4.

400-meter dash

Cody Leonard, third, 58.42; Marshall Martin, fifth, 59.34.

300-meter hurdles

Tim Diaz, first, 49.44.

200-meter dash

Wyatt Scott, third, 25.96; Dylan Scott, seventh, 26.63.

1,600-meter run

Val Ramirez, first, 5:33.5; Tyler Harris, fifth, 5:58.9; Elias Perez, sixth, 6:13.7.

1,600-meter relay

Marshall Martin, Wyatt Scott, Cody Leonard, Dylan Scott, first, 3:57.1.

The JV boys won their district championship.

The results of the varsity Bobcat district meet included:

3,200-meter run

James Rodriguez, third, 11:07.3.

800-meter run

Rodriguez, seventh, 2:16.6.

110-meter hurdles

Charles Allard, first, 15.51.

100-meter dash

Andrew Casarez, seventh, 11.62.

400-meter dash

Casarez, seventh, 55.06.

300-meter hurdles

Charles Allard, first, 42.57.

200-meter dash

Ryan Lakso, fifth, 24.21.

1,600-meter relay

James Rodriguez, Andrew Casarez, Ryan Lakso, Charles Allard, fifth, 3:44.2.

The varsity Bobcats finished seventh overall in district.

In the area meet on April 16 in Banquete, the only Bobcat to advance to the Region IV meet in Converse was hurdler Charles Allard.

Allard finished second in both the 110-meter hurldes and in the 300-meter hurdles. His time in the 110-meter race was a quick 16.18 and he was clocked at 43.09 in the 300-meter event.

The Region IV meet is being held this weekend at Converse Judson.
