Goliad County Commissioner Bailey named EMS liaison

GOLIAD – Precinct 3 Commissioner Ronald Bailey was designated the liaison between the County Commissioners Court and the Goliad County EMS department during Monday’s meeting.

Bailey replaces Precinct 1 Commissioner Julian Flores.

Commissioners also unanimously approved the rental/loan and service agreement between the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Navy for night-visual inspection devices. Sheriff Kirby Brumby said the use of the thermal cameras would assist his deputies in tracing down suspected illegal immigrants who have bailed out of vehicles.

Commissioners unanimously approved an interlocal cooperation agreement between the Goliad County Sheriff’s Office and Moore County Sheriff’s Office for the purpose of performing functions as authorized access terminals to TLETS for the CopSync program.

In other action items, commissioners unanimously approved the Sol parks Estate plat, a grant agreement and resolution for a county transportation infrastructure grant and a federal transportation grant agreement between the county and Golden Crescent Regional Planning Commission for rural transit.

The commissioners also viewed a presentation from the Texas Association of Counties regarding Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits.

The next scheduled meeting is May 12.
