Tuesday, April 29, the Runge ISD will host a Public Meeting on the school bond scheduled for May 10 elections. It is important that everyone attends this meeting to learn about the changes and improvements for the school along with the impact on your local taxes.
Run-off elections for the County Commissioners Pct. 4 race (which includes Runge and east Kenedy) will also be held May 10 at the VFW.
Thursday, May 1 is the National Day of Prayer. Please pray for our active duty military, our veterans and our government officials who direct their movements while protecting our country. Pray for our local, state and national government leadership.
This past weekend the Runge queens court worked on their float with the Runge Ag instructor, Mr. Rainey. They are looking forward to the Bluebonnet Parade on Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Before the parade, the girls will enjoy the Kenedy Rotary pancake breakfast put on at the Good Shepherd Church from 7 to 9 a.m. Come and join us.
The Runge Chamber of Commerce is open to all businesses in the area as well as interested citizens. We work hard to make a difference in our community and provided opportunities to make Runge shine. July 5 will be our signature project, Runge Independence Day Celebration at the VFW. If you would like to show an antique car, be in the parade, set up a table to show and sell your wares, or any number of other opportunities, please contact the Runge Chamber of Commerce at 830-200-8927 or Brenda Hansler at 432-631-2701.
