KINGSVILLE – Texas A&M-Kingsville junior Amber Perry defended her 400-meter dash title Saturday at the Lone Star Conference Track and Field Championships at Javelina Stadium.

Perry, a Goliad High School graduate, won the event with a time of 56.09 seconds. Perry had a time of 55.62 in the preliminaries.

Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Kathy Trevino was second in the finals with a time of 56.58.

Another Goliad High School graduate, Texas A&M-Kingsville junior Briana Bartosch, finished fourth in the 100 hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.27.

West Texas A&M’s Sharon Kwarula won the 100 hurdles in 13.84. McMurry’s Tiana Alexander was second in 13.90 and Angelo State’s Jordan Gray was third in 13.94. Bartosch had a 14.66 in the preliminaries.
