Thunderstorm and lightning trigger explosions, fires and accidents across Karnes County
Karnes County and other emergency workers responded to multiple incidents Friday afternoon across Karnes County following a thunderstorm with lightning that passed through the area.

Most emergency workers were tasked to the site of Supreme Vacuum Services, located just north of the Red Ewald plant on U.S. Highway 181 between Kenedy and Karnes City. They fought to contain fires on the site that reportedly began with the explosion of one or more disposal trucks.

Other incidents involved fires and accidents in many locations across the county. More details and video from this developing story will be posted online as they become available.
