Kenedy defeats Falls City if regional quarterfinal
The Kenedy Lions brought home a 5-4 victory over Falls City in the baseball regional quarterfinal playoff Friday night in San Antonio.
A very large crowd travelled to San Antonio to watch the Falls City Beavers and the Kenedy Lions compete in the regional quarterfinal playoff Friday night.

Spectators were not disappointed as they watched a closely fought back and forth battle between the two Karnes County teams.

Falls City got on the scoreboard quickly in the first inning with a home run by Justin Twine making the score one to nothing.

In the fourth inning the Lions evened the tally at 1-1

Falls City retook the lead again in the fifth inning, going up three to one.

The Lions fought back in the sixth inning, taking the lead, 5-3.

The Beavers put one more run on the board making the score 5-4 and left players standing on base in the seventh and final inning when southpaw Kenedy Pitcher Dominic Cruz struck out a Beaver batter, ending the game, with Kenedy bringing home the 5-4 regional quarterfinal win.

See the May 21 issue of The Karnes Countywide for photos and complete coverage of the game and details about the Lions next playoff round.
