The last day to help Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers raise scholarship money is fast approaching.

Judy Ranalli, vice president of the group, says that they plan to end sales on June 20 for their Coca-Cola fundraiser.

The group is selling prepaid 20-ounce bottles of Coke products (Coke, Diet Coke, Caffeine-Free Coke, Sprite, Minute Maid Lemonade, Dr Pepper, Barques Root Beer, along with Dasani water to name a few) for $21 a case, which comes out to about 88 cents each.

Ranalli said that all the money they raise will help fund scholarship money for next year along with other projects.

“We cover three counties, and we are trying to make it so that we can help the young man or woman going to school,” she said.

The scholarship is open to youths seeking a law enforcement related degree.

This year’s recipient was Adam Alvarado, who received $500.

They hope to expand the scholarship in the years to come; however, those details are still being worked.

Those who purchase products can pick them up at the depot pavilion on Saturday, June 28, from 1-4 p.m.

Order forms can be found at coastalbendcrimestoppers.com or come by the office at 210 E. Corpus Christi St. (the old library) Monday-Friday from 9-5 p.m.

Make check or money order to Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers; don’t forget, your order forms also must be submitted, she said, so stock up for your Fourth of July celebration.

For more information, contact Ranalli at 362-0206.
