GOLIAD – Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers Crime is offering a cash reward for information leading to the apprehension of the person(s) responsible for a potentially-dangerous act of criminal mischief.

Around 1 p.m. on June 6, a Goliad County resident was driving down Farm-to-Market Road 622 at the Perdido Creek Bridge when someone threw a large plastic container weighted down with rocks and water at his vehicle. The container struck the upper right windshield of the driver’s car, shattering it. Fortunately, the driver did not lose control and brought the vehicle to a safe stop.

No one was seen alongside the road and investigating deputies believe the plastic container was launched from beneath the bridge, out of the driver’s view, as a prank.

Two days later, another motorist reported someone tossing objects from beneath the bridge onto the roadway in front of oncoming traffic. A search of the area by deputies did not locate the person(s) responsible.

It is believed these acts are being done as a prank. However, these acts could easily lead to a serious traffic crash.

Anyone with information about who may be responsible for these acts of criminal mischief is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 361-362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206.

All calls are anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
