Kenedy 4B begins summer competition

The Kenedy 4B youth started competing in the summer sports program this past week. Tuesday, June 17, the 4B girls softball team traveled to the Victoria Sports Complex to play against the Victoria Extreme Heat. Dia Reyna had a solid game at the plate and Delany Barrientez pitched the complete game in a 14-4 loss. Catcher Mariah Villarreal also had a solid game for the 4B squad as they stand 0-1 in the Victoria Softball League, Rudy Diaz is the Coach for 4B.

In track and field, Kastyn Hoffman saw herself winning the long jump at the Three Rivers USATF meet on June 20 with a leap of 9' 9" in the girls Primary division (girls born in 2005 and after). Hoffman also won the high jump with a jump of 3' 2", won the 50 meter dash in 10.81 and was third in the 100 meter dash in 18.05, Kastyn is the daughter of Noelle Hoffman and Mark Hoffman. Great job Kastyn.

The Kenedy boys basketball team will travel to San Antonio to participate in tournament play for the first time for Kenedy 4B, the maroon and white team play June 21 and will have another tournament in July, boys need to get in contact with Coach McConnell if you wish to play in the July tournament.

Dates for the girls high school and junior high volleyball camp have been set: July 28 thru August 1, this year the camp with have a $20 fee to attend and participate for the whole week. Junior high girls will go in the morning and high school girls in the afternoon. Coach Alvin Mumpford from St. Joseph High and Kayla Krietsch will be conducting the volleyball camp.
