Sulema Hernandez Masseau, 68, of Beeville, died Saturday, June 28, 2014.

Mrs. Masseau was born Feb. 10, 1946, in Berclair to Adan and Estella (Villafranco) Hernandez. She married Greg Masseau on Aug. 22, 1970, in Beeville. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Joe V. Hernandez; a nephew, Carmel Briseno; and a brother-in-law, David Reyna.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Masseau of Beeville; two sons, Noel (Jody) Masseau of Beeville and Sean (Margot) Masseau of McAllen; four grandchildren, Douglas Matta, Nicolas Masseau, Faith McKenzie Masseau and Hailey Noelle Masseau; three sisters, Sara Reyna of Beeville, Viola (Andrew) Salinas of Victoria and Rosie (Benny) Mejarado of Bay City; three brothers, Adan (Amanda) Hernandez of San Angelo, Frank (Irma) Hernandez of Round Rock and Ernest (Myra) Hernandez of Victoria; one sister-in-law, Senaida Hernandez of Beeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Monday, June 30, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Richard Gonzales officiating. Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Hernandez, Joe Anthony Hernandez, Robert Hernandez Jr., Miguel Hernandez, Billy Hernandez and Adan Briseno.
