The public is invited to a special presentation Wednesday morning of a flag flown in Afghanistan to the Bee County Chamber of Commerce.

Sgt. First Class Mark Canales had the flag flown in honor of the chamber. He will present the flag during a ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Jones High School.

Several veteran organizations also will be on hand including members of the Vietnam and Afghanistan chapters.

The flag was flown during his last combat tour to Afghanistan from 2013 through January 2014.

Canales has been serving his country since November 1999. His most recent assignment has been at Fort Carson, Colorado, as a senior intelligence NCOIC.
