Tuesday collision.Gary Kent photo.According to a report filed by Patrolman Salvador Sanchez of the Beeville Police Department, no one was seriously injured in this two-vehicle collision at the intersection of the 400 block of East Houston and the 100 block of South Adams Street Tuesday morning. The vehicle on its side, a 2003 Chevrolet SUV, flipped over after it collided with a 2010 Chevrolet van owned by Kids World Day Care. Witnesses said the driver of the SUV appeared to be trying to beat a red light as he was westbound on Houston Street. But he failed to make it and the van was easing into the intersection when the collision occurred. The driver of the SUV had to be helped out of the vehicle by emergency workers. Two adult passengers and seven children who were in the southbound van, ranging in age from one year old to five years old, were uninjured and taken on to the day care center. The driver of the SUV, John Hubert Spears, was cited for disregarding a red light.
