Refugio - Ernest Guerrero, beloved husband, father and grandfather, born August 2, 1934, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2014.

Ernest was born to Gabriel and Alcaria Guerrero in Long Mott, Texas. He moved to Refugio very early and lived out the remainder of his life there.

Ernest married Sally Ann Garcia in 1955. They had 3 children: Michael, Philip, and Becky. Michael preceded him in death in 1970, and Sally passed away in 1991.

Ernest was drafted into the Army in 1957 and rose to the rank of Specialist 4. After leaving military life he began his career in public service as an assistant in the County Auditor’s office. He eventually became County Auditor and served in the position for 33 rewarding years.

Ernest married Beatrice Valenzuela in 1998. Together they were involved with activities at St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling with their friends.

In addition to Sally and Michael, he was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; children, Philip and Becky; and stepdaughters Patricia and Catherine. He is also survived by a brother, Oscar and grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah and Chandler.

Visitation will be July 9, 4:00-7:00 p.m. with rosary following at Moore Funeral Home.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10.
