He was born Nov. 27, 1925 in Hobson to Mike Foegelle and Regina Dziuk Foegelle. He and Sally Swierc were married on Nov. 11, 1947 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City. He served from 1944 until 1946 in the Naval Construction Battalion Sea-Bea on the island of Guam. He was a member of the VFW Post 8555, Poth and an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson. He farmed, ranched and worked for Kraft Foods for 26 years.
Survivors include his wife Sally Swierc Foegelle; children, Harvey (Laura) Foegelle, Joyce Foegelle, Mildred Dupnik, Judy Weber, and David (Maike Hudson) Foegelle; grandchildren, Dr. Erik Weber, Corey Weber-Stohlmann, Adam Dupnik, Valerie Dupnik, Jill Foegelle, Jennifer Chenault, Kimberly Olivier, Amy Giannini, and Emily Olivier; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Ben, Richard and Pete Foegelle; and sisters, Lucy Jaloway, and Lorena Korzekwa.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sons-in-law, Calvin Dupnik and Richard Weber; sister, Eugenia Raabe, and brother Herman Foegelle.
Visitation began at 5 p.m., Friday, July 18 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City with a rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. that evening.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.
Interment followed in the Hobson Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Kenneth Jiral, Keith Burg, Joey Foegelle, Don Surber, Larry Boening and Tony Jaloway.
