How it works:
Eligible person requests ride by calling the Alamo Service Connection (ASC), e-mail email@example.com or is referred by a social worker, case manager or other advocate.
Rider completes intake and assessment process: 1) Provide basic information via phone interview. 2) Provides supporting information via fax / e-mail to include: a) DD214 b) photo ID c) other documents as requested.
Rider is approved and provided contact number for transportation provider in their area to schedule ride (must be at least 7 to 10 days prior to ride request)
If eligible, ride is provided free of charge (riders can use for multiple trips based on funding). You can get a ride anywhere in the 13 counties of the Alamo region.
Who is eligible:
Veterans, immediate family (spouse, under 18, or disabled adult), caregivers, and widows living with the veteran.
Be of low-income or no means of transportation or have medical needs that cause regular visits to a medical treatment facility.

The primary goal is to help those needing medical care or services first, but you can use the program to do almost anything (not all inclusive):
1. Doctor visits (not just to the V.A.)
2. Grocery needs
3. Places of worship
4. Paying bills
5. Trips to a senior center or community agency
