During a regular Three Rivers council meeting last Monday (May 11), Aldermen approved a resolution adopting the City of Three Rivers Park Master Plan and authorized submission to the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Lynda Richter, member of the Three Rivers Park Master Plan Committee gave Aldermen a presentation of the plan the committee has been designing and finalizing since January 2009. Mike L. Ashley, commercial realtor requested the City supply a letter of intent agreeing they will provide wastewater waste disposal, upon terms and conditions mutually agreed upon by both parties, for a for a travel center to be located at IH-37 and U.S. 281.

Aldermen voted to award bid in the amount of $3,026,272 to Hoover Construction Company, Inc for Wastewater Treatment Plant and Force Main as per bid opening held April 16. The issue of a rate change for the purchase of raw or untreated water by Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing Company from the City’s reservoir located on the Frio River was tabled.

In other City business, Ricardo Montemayor of San Antonio was hired as a police officer. Finally, Lupe De La Rosa addressed city officials and requested an agenda item to be added in reference to ordinances for 18-wheelers in the city.
