Woodsboro is a wonderful town to live in and raise a family. Its’ small town atmosphere helps to foster a sense of community that alludes most places. While we are unique in many ways, we share some real problems that plague most small towns: unkempt property, buildings, and structures.

The Woodsboro City Council voted during its June 2nd meeting to start a substandard building committee. The City is asking for interested citizens to please think of serving in an advisory capacity to the Council and help in cleaning our town. Individuals serving on such a committee will be asked to identify substandard buildings and structures that need either immediate attention to bring them into compliance with acceptable building codes or to mark them as condemned and ready for demolition.

With improved property comes an increase in property values; not only the immediate property being cleaned up, but surrounding properties. That increase in value leads to an increase in city revenues and a path to addressing other issues such as drainage and the paving of our streets.

Please take the time to think of volunteering your time for the betterment of our city. Contact the city offices at 543-4505 or any council member.
