Be Active, Live Longer met Friday, June 5, for its monthly covered dish luncheon. The group was treated with a program presented by Kelsey Hill, FCS extension agent for Bee County, on the Mastery of Memory.

Marlo Sandoval, First United Methodist Church’s Wesley nurse, distributed literature that listed strategies and techniques that can greatly aid in memory recall.

Some people are visual learners. If they see it in writing, it is easier to recall. Others learn more quickly by hearing information where as others are “doers”. Participation enforces the information.

The group was pleased to have another visitor that day, Signy Sizer, Methodist nurse, from Port Lavaca.

She promised to visit again.

The door prize donated by Mary Denkeler was awarded to Penny Ladd by Kelsey Hill.
