Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats compete at 2009 state linemen challenge

The Skidmore-Tynan football linemen were in Duncanville last week and captured a third place trophy for division 2A squads at the state’s linemen challenge. Matt Hernandez captured first place in the bench press event. Team members participating include, Matt Hernandez, Manny Flores, Kevin Shumate, Jose Molina, Sal Soto, Chance Schirmer and Donato Salinas.

The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats’ linemen competed in the state linemen challenge on Wednesday, July 8, in Duncanville.

The Bobcats competed in the tire flip, sled pull, bench press, sandbag load, medicine ball toss, sled drag, farmers walk and truck push.

Matt Hernandez pressed out 34 reps to win the overall title for the bench press. The Bobcat linemen as a team took home a third place trophy in Class 2A.

Team members consisted of: Matt Hernandez, Manny Flores, Kevin Shumate, Jose Molina, Sal Soto, Chance Schirmer and Donato Salinas.
