On June 22, Garden Club members met at Judy Weber’s house in Three Rivers to discuss the 2009-10 calendar year agenda.

The Club has some very interesting and exciting projects for the coming year. We are all looking forward to putting these plans into action. One project that is currently underway is the Montgomery Park makeover, which should be completed by the fall. I can’t wait to see the final outcome of that renovation.

I would also like to remind everyone in the community to please take advantage of going by the Memorial Rose Garden that is next to the Rialto Theater. The roses are beautifully blooming and the City has graciously donated a beautiful red park bench for everyone to sit and enjoy the garden. When an opportunity arises, please go by there, sit down and enjoy the scenery and wonderful fragrance of the garden.

The Club would like to extend an invitation to anyone that would like to join the Garden Club. We are always looking for members. If anyone is interested in learning about the club, or have a suggestion, please contact Vangie Alaniz, president at 449-2130 or Judy Weber at 786-2261.

You do not have to have a green thumb to be a member, trust me, I could never keep anything alive and since I have been a member I can honestly say, I have learned a lot and my plants are still alive. We have a wonderful club and we all enjoy working on beautifying our wonderful community.
