She moved to Woodsboro in 1945 where she was the first school nurse at Woodsboro ISD.
She was born Jan. 27, 1918 in Ardmore, Pa.
Chambers is preceded in death by her husband and son.
Survivors include her only daughter, Carol Sullivan; a sister, Jeannette Harvey; five grandchildren; one nephew and one niece.
A memorial service was conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Church of Christ in Woodsboro.
