On Saturday, Oct. 18, the museum welcomed 43 guests who had come to have their blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol checked. The flu shots were administered by the Live Oak County nurse, Rachel Clinton.

The Honor Society from Three Rivers High School checked in the clients. The Coastal Bend student nursing staff took care of blood checks. The Swinney Switch Auxiliary, Inc. hosted a Continental breakfast as the testing required fasting.

This was the first time the Health Fair was held at the museum and plans are to continue making it an annual service to Live Oak County. A special thanks to our county nurse and best of luck to the future nurses.

The next “Brown Bag Special” event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. – noon. Guest speaker Roberta Dobie will give a presentation titled: “Retaining Your Records through Photos.”
