John D. Potter, Jr., who was honored with the Texas Historical Foundation’s Award of Merit for 2007, will present A Day in 1800s Texas. He will display grooming items, trail foods, utensils, toys, and more from the period. Come look at his exhibit and ask questions about how Texas pioneers lived.
The Society of Historical Interpreters of Texas will honor Texas Ranger Captain “Rip” Ford and his company of Rangers by presenting a display of weaponry, photographs, and information. Members will be clothed in Ranger gear typical of the 1850s. Come learn about this distinguished Texas leader and his brave company of Rangers who fought Indians and guarded South Texas.
