Coastal Bend College recently announced free General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) classes for eligible students in Mathis beginning Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Sacred Heart- Cursillo Center, located at 205 N. St. Mary’s St.

Students must be at least 18 years of age and be officially withdrawn from high school. Students 17 years of age require parental approval to attend classes and must be officially withdrawn from school.

Classes will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30-9 p.m. There is no tuition fee and books and workbooks are free of charge.

Registration will be held on Tuesday evening, Oct. 28, beginning at 6:30. Students who are 17 years of age are asked to bring copies of their school transcripts and withdrawal forms. Students 18 years of age or older are not subject to these requirements. Classes begin on Wednesday night, Oct. 29.
