Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville Volunteers are again offering scholarships for students pursuing a career in the nursing and radiology field. The organization is offering four, $1,000 scholarships for the spring 2010 semester. To be considered for this award, the applicant must complete an application form and adhere to the list of requirements. Applicants from the fall semester will only need to attach a copy of their grades and update any changes to their original application.

All applicants must be accepted or continuing in the Coastal Bend College Nursing or Radiology Program. The Christus Spohn Hospital Volunteers organization offers the scholarships to assist Bee County students and those from surrounding counties serviced by Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 7, applications for the spring semester are available at the Financial Aid Office of Coastal Bend College, or the hospital’s gift shop and information desk. Deadline for the return of the completed applications is Oct. 19. Scholarship awards will be sent to Coastal Bend College to be available for the spring semester.

The volunteers are proud to assist aspiring and outstanding students in their pursuit of a medical career that eventually will benefit us all. Scholarships are offered in the spring and fall of each year as the funds become available. The volunteers man the gift shop and the information desk at Christus Spohn Hospital Beeville, as well as holding special fund-raisers to earn money for donations to the hospital and the scholarship program.
