Beeville woman dies in rollover near Mathis

A 45-year-old Beeville woman died early Monday in a one-car rollover on State Highway 359 near Mathis.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that Mary Hinojosa was found in an overturned 2000 Pontiac Sunfire at about 7:34 a.m. Monday.

The accident occurred about 1.2 miles east of Mathis.

According to the report, the vehicle veered off the roadway, went into a field, struck a cable box, went across a driveway and rolled over on its top.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Hinojosa was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Amada Cardenas of San Patricio County.

Gigi not a day goes by that you are not missed. We don't understand why you were taken so soon from all these people that loved you. There is so much pain right now. I know that when the hummingbirds come back that they will bring a lot of peace and happiness to many. We love and miss you so much. Rest in peace our dear sister

This was my Aunt, I am very very very sad to hear of her death. She was a good and loving person and will be miss.
