What has happened to our America? As a child, I remember our family at the end of The Depression even though times were hard, there was a belief in honesty, loyalty, trust, and compassion. A handshake was as good as a contract. You could also rely on anything said in the media to be the truth. How times have changed!
When we were in school and teachers planned a field trip, it was to the zoo or park. They even took us to the bakery to learn how bread was made. Last week, a school in California took their children on a field trip to a lesbian wedding. Have they not read about Sodom and Gomorrah?
We have an election in a few days and will have to make a choice. One candidate believes in late-term abortion, same-sex marriage, and dispersal of tax-break dollars to those not even paying taxes! Even if you have worked all your life and have finally gained a secure income, the Obama/Biden ticket wants you to “spread the wealth” to those already receiving government funding.
Sadly, he can tell you a lie, better than he can tell you the truth. He claims to be on “your side,” but if you are a hunter or own a gun for protection, Obama and Biden have a long record against guns. Pull up www.gunbanobama.com and see their records to this end.
Finally, Obama’s involvement with ACORN, an organization that he once helped organize and train, has been involved in blatant voter fraud in at least 12 states, with some invalid voters already having cast their votes! Can the fraud problem be settled by voting time for the rest of us? Obama is a smooth talker and had charmed so many across the country; but everyone needs to determine if his word choice is truthful or just “pleasing to the ears.”
Our other choice is John McCain and Sarah Palin. I do not intend to put him on a pedestal as being perfect, for he has made mistakes in the past. But, he believes in one man and one woman as the institution of marriage, the sanctity of every unborn life, and has adopted children with his wife to live what he proclaims.
McCain also stands for less government and people handling their own money instead of the government passing out that hard-earned income to those not even attempting to work.
We need to also be aware that a look at each candidate’s voting record and not attendance record to be sure that our Christian vote will not be for someone who will lead this country in the wrong direction.
Remember, if we elect a president from the Democratic Party and team him with a predominantly Democratic House and Senate, every radical bill and “free-funding” program will easily be voted into law. This is scary!
We will no longer have a two party system with equal representation. How far have we gone from our founding fathers’ intent? How much further can we go from God’s intent? Without a McCain/Palin vote, your voice and mine will become silent democracy and Christianity will be non-existent.

All of the statements you make in your second paragraph are things that have been proven to be untrue and is used by republicans to insight fear in the general population.... just like the tactics used after Sept. 11th that ran us head first into an necessary war that has caused the nation to bleed out money and the blood of our soldiers.
Obama is not for same sex marriage, he spoke of civil unions... very different than marriage. Obama believes in stricter gun control to keep guns out of the hands of people who are not qualified to own, not to take guns away who are able to compotently own and use guns in a responsible manner. The tax breaks that are proposed are for those who put into the system, not for those who don't... seriously if you want to really have a balanced prospective you need to get the facts straight.
You can keep clinging to the propaganda and the soundbytes the right wing keeps feeding you, it's easier than thinking for yourself isn't it?
The way our country is going it will be run right into the ground. We are the only industrialized nation that does not provide health care for it's citizens. It is also an industrialized nation that has one of the lowest life expectancies, highest rate of infant mortality, highest rate of gun related deaths and violent crimes and we spend more per person on healthcare and millions of children, teens, adults, and elderly people do not even have any sort of BASIC coverage.
It is time to get rid of the smoke and mirrors that make this country seem like it is greater than what it is. It was once a great country that offered many opportunites for its citizens, but that was in the past. Our society and its needs have shifted and we will not be a country capable of sustaining our position of influence and power within the global society without adjusting to the ever-changing needs of our citizens.
The only way these changes will happen is if we as citizens DEMAND it.
