Jesusita “Susie” Jaramillo-Canales, 94, died on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, in Corpus Christi.

She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Beeville. Her favorite hobbies were sewing and designing. She worked at Dottie’s Fabric Shop, in downtown Corpus Christi, and then worked at Liechenstein’s Department Store, from where she retired.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gerardo and Rita Jaramillo; her sister, Jovita J. Gonzales; and her brothers, Santos Jaramillo, Lalo Jaramillo and Tony Jaramillo.

She is survived by two daughters, Delia M. (George) Farias and Olga M. (Marcelino) Gonzales; one son, Ruben J. Moreno; 12 grandchildren, Greg Farias, Nelda F. Garcia, Yolanda F. Ocanas, Rene Farias, Belinda Farias, Adam Farias, Debbie Gonzales, Yomeida Gonzales, Imelda Gonzales, Noe Moreno, Leticia Perez and Roy Moreno; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with a rosary recited that same evening at 7 o’clock. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Corpus Christi Funeral Home followed by interment at Seaside Memorial Park.
