Tabitha Elizabeth Treviño faces a possible 20-year prison sentence and a fine of as much as $10,000 if convicted of one or both of the two second degree felony counts of delivery of marijuana to a child.
According to Bee County Sheriff’s Office investigator Steve Linam, Treviño was accused of providing marijuana to a 13-year-old girl on July 19, 2008, and again on July 11, 2009.
The third count of the indictment stemmed from an incident which reportedly took place on July 19 of this year, in which the defendant allegedly smoked marijuana while an 18-month girl sat on her lap.
That count of the indictment was a state jail felony punishable by a term of up to two years in a state jail facility and a fine of $10,000.
According to the indictment, Treviño placed the 18-month-old child in “imminent danger of death, bodily injury or physical or mental injury by smoking marijuana while the child sat in her lap.”
District Judge Janna Whatley set her bond at $5,000.
Grand jurors also returned indictments on:
•Ernest Camacho on a charge of burglary of a habitation, enhanced to a first degree felony.
If convicted of the charge, Camacho could face up to 99 years or life in prison and a fine of $10,000.
Deputies alleged that he broke into the home of a local woman on July 13.
The charge, which normally is a second degree felony, was enhanced because the defendant had a previous felony conviction on a charge of arson in Harris County on May 2, 1989.
•Johnny Monsevaiz on a charge of aggravated assault, bodily injury with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony.
According to Beeville Police Department investigators, Monsevaiz stabbed a man with a knife on July 11.
Bond was $3,000.
•Jose Garza on a charge of bail jumping, a second degree felony.
According to district court officials, Garza was to appear in court on charges of prohibited sexual conduct and sexual assault, both of which had been enhanced because of previous felony convictions.
Garza allegedly was to appear on Aug. 25.
Bond was $25,000.
•Matthew Ray Suniga in a two-count indictment on charges of arson.
The charges are third degree felonies punishable by a prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of $10,000.
Police investigators alleged that Suniga started a fire in a structure at 814 W. Stamper St. by using a lighter on Dec. 30, 2008.
Bond was $5,000.
•David Anthony Cantu on a charge of possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Deputies claimed that Cantu had cocaine in his possession at the Bee County Jail on May 13.
Bond was $5,000.
•Jesus Jaime DelBosque on a charge of driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony.
According to state troopers, the defendant was operating a motor vehicle on May 9 while under the influence of alcohol.
DelBosque had previous DWI convictions on Feb. 24, 1999, and on June 25, 2003, both in Bee County.
Bond was $1,000.
