Raul Zuniga, age 69 died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009. He was born in George West on June 15, 1940 to Vicente and Virgenia Munoz Zuniga. He lived in George West where he worked for the Katzfey Brothers. He was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in George West.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Raul Zuniga, Jr. and a sister, Aida Zuniga.

He is survived by five children, Virginia (Juan R.) Lopez of Ennis; David (Dora) Zunga of George West; Jimmy (Nancy) Zuniga of Corsicana; Ray Zuniga of Ennis and Chris (Cindy) Zuniga of Ennis; seven brothers, Vicente Zuniga, Jr. of George West; Julio Zuniga, Sr. of Beeville; Antonio Zuniga, Sr. of George West; Victor Zuniga of Edna; Juan Zuniga of George West; Santos Zuniga of Beeville and Pancho Zuniga of Fannin; five sisters, Eva Colunga of George West; Ester Mata of Rice; Soila Cotton of Georgia; Viola Martinez of San Antonio and Eloisa Zuniga of Houston; six grandsons; six granddaughters and four great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Galloway and Sons Chapel in George West. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., officiated by Deacon Tony Postart. Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
