The Three Rivers JV football team traveled to Yorktown Thursday, Sept. 3 to take on the Wildcats. The Wildcats spread attack got them on the board early in the first quarter. The two point conversion was no good as Aaron Meineke recovered a fumble short of the end zone. The Bulldogs were able to move the ball well on their opening drive but were forced to punt after the Yorktown defense stopped a short third down attempt by the dogs. The Bulldogs had an opportunity to tie the game but on fourth and goal from the one, Ty Brown was stopped short of the end zone.

The defense played well after the opening possession keeping the Wildcats scoreless in the last three quarters of play.

The final was Yorktown 6, TR 0. Ty Brown led all TR rushers with 58 yards on 12 carries. Zenon Sanchez led all Bulldog tacklers with nine on the day. Cory Moya finished with three tackles and an interception.

On Sept. 10, the Bulldogs hosted the Pettus Eagles. The Bulldog defense looked good early holding Pettus to two consecutive three and outs, including a goal line stand that ended the Eagles hope of a touchdown on the series. The offense started to move the ball, but the Eagle defense tightened up forcing the Bulldogs to punt. The Eagles led at the half 12-0.

The Eagles would add another score and two point conversion before the Dawgs got on the board. The Bulldogs lone score came on a 14 yard pass from Cory Moya to Chance Saenz. The two point conversion was no good.

The final score was Pettus 20, TR 6. Zenon Sanchez and Jose Sanchez had 11 tackles and 10 tackles respectively.

The JV Bulldogs will be back in action this Thursday as they host the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats.
