South Texas Regional Medical Center (STRMC) is pleased to announce that Walter Chesshir, III, M.D., is the new Medical Director of the Three Rivers Family Health Center (TRFHC).
Dr. Chesshir was named Medical Director of TRFHC on Sept. 14. Dr. Chesshir is an experienced physician who enjoys working in a health center environment. He joined South Texas Regional Medical Center in 2006 working as a primary care physician at the Devine Family Health Center, in Devine, TX.
In January of 2009, Dr. Chesshir relocated his practice to Pleasanton and appropriately renamed it, Lone Star Medicine. Dr. Chesshir is a resident of Jourdanton and native of South Texas. His professional background and credentials include:

Dr. Chesshir looks forward to working side-by-side with Verlis W. Felkins, Jr. PA-C, LAT, Physician Assistant, to continue to deliver the personalized medical care that the clinic is know for delivering. Together, both medical professionals possess a keen familiarity with the community and specifically the clinic’s patient care needs.
Dr. Chesshir’s addition will further enhance the availability of quality medical services provided at TRFHC. The Three Rivers Family Health Center will continue to provide a wide spectrum of services to the Live Oaks area, which will include: school and commercial physical examinations; laboratory and radiology services; EKG testing; and minor emergency services for in-house procedures and traumas.
