As both team warmed up, you could sense the intensity level rise. With only two points separating both teams for most of game, one of the Lady Cobras finally pulled out the win by defeating the Lady Cats, 25-20.
Early on, game two was almost an exact replica of game one. Both teams refused to allow more than a two point deficit between the two.
With the score finally being tied at nine all, the Lady Cobras went on a six-point run to pull ahead from the Lady Cats 16-10. With a time out called, the Lady Cats rallied but came up short and dropped game two25-17.
The well-seasoned Lady Cobras proved to be too much for the Lady Cats as they never recovered from game two and dropped the final game 25-12.
Lady Cat Coach Hemphill had nothing but praise for her team.
“We did some great things against such a power house as Industrial,” she said. “We were playing without some of our players so we had to make some adjustments and I think the girls did a great job stepping up.”
In her first year at RHS, Coach Hemphill says the team is improving with each game.
“We like playing tough teams like this because we know it is making us better and it is taking us closer to our goal,” she said.
