Parenting your teenager is a challenge. The tug and pull of a busy life, societies mixed messages on morality, danger in the streets and communication breakdowns wear on everyone in the family. 

First Baptist Church in George West understands the need to equip families to survive and thrive in today’s busy world. Tuesday Lunch Club, “The Mix”, Sunday Morning Youth Bible Studies and Fifth Quarter after football games are examples of outreach to our community for teens from every walk of life. “The Mix” is a time for teens to connect with one another and with God in a positive, contemporary environment that meets them where they are in their lives.

While the teens are attending “The Mix,” parents are encouraged to participate in the “Parenting your Teenager Bible Study”. 

On Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m., a six week look at parenting your teenager will begin in George West. The DVD study lead by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott will include topics on identity, turmoil, rebellion and legacy, followed by time for conversation and constructive solutions to the challenges parents face. Mother of four, Crickett Iley, will facilitate the study. The study will be held at First Baptist Church in George West.

A Sunday night seminar on parenting younger children is also about to begin at First Baptist Church of George West: beginning Sunday, Oct. 4th, 6 -7 p.m., in Youth Room. Childcare provided. What kind of parent do you want to be? Who you are matters more than what you do. When your kids are all grown up, how will they remember you? Join other parents of young children in a six week colloquium group that will help you and your family through the formative years of your child/children.
