Junior Service League will present a “High Heel Marathon” on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6:30 p.m. This event is open to all runners regardless of age.

Heels must be worn and should be at least two inches in height, according to organizers. The distance of the run will be one block.

The Junior Service League of Beeville sponsors the annual foot race in conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise money for South Texas Family Planning in Beeville.

First-place award is only for the winner wearing high heels.

Awards will be presented to first-place overall male or female runner; best dressed/costume; prettiest shoes; and most unique shoes.

Preregistration is $10; and after Oct. 16, the entry fee will be $15.

To register or for information, contact Gina Martinez at 350-0472.
