A DPS trooper was operating on IH 37 passing the south bound rest area when he ran the license plates of a vehicle which turned out to be stolen out of Houston PD. He requested assistance, adding that he would not “light up” until all units in position and asked that all units proceed without lights. Other units responded and headed out to help. The trooper advised that the vehicle was occupied by one male wearing a base ball cap. In a few moments, all units were in position and the trooper reported that he was “lighting him up.” The driver responded by increasing his speed and attempting to out-run the officers, reaching a speed of over 100 m.p.h.. The driver hit the brush several miles into the chase. A Border Patrol officer was in the area and the landowner was notified. The Border Patrol located the vehicle still running with no keys. A wrecker was requested. DPS in Corpus Christi confirmed that the vehicle was stolen.
A DPS trooper advised there was a rental dolly behind a convenience store. He checked the license plate and discovered that it was stolen. He contacted the agency and they did not want to do anything about it. The vehicle was left behind the store.
A George West caller stated that someone around her house was setting off fireworks and it woke up her kids.
A traveller on the Interstate advised that he was a truck driver for a major company. He just so happened to look down and there was a vehicle off the road. It looked like they might have had an accident. A deputy advised he would take the call. He found the vehicle in the creek. EMS was paged and later advised subjects refused all medical attention.
A George West woman said she thought her 17-year-old grandson had the swine flu.
A Simmons man advised that he had been exposed to the swine flu by a neighbor’s visiting granddaughter who is in the hospital. He just wanted to know if he should not go to church (on Sunday) because he didn’t want to expose anyone else.
A male visitor at Choke Canyon Calliham Unit reported that a woman had fallen and broken her arm. It was “bent all the way back.” McMullen Co. EMS responded and transported her to the hospital.
An inmate at the county jail took his medication as prescribed; then ate the cold gel pack. EMS was paged out and took him to the hospital with a deputy escorting them. (Poison Control had been notified and they advised that the subject be taken to the hospital as the ingredients in the pack can be harmful.)
A manager of a store in Three Rivers reported that some customers were fighting in the store. As she was speaking to the dispatcher, she said, “they just took the fight outside now. The second party left but the officer was on the look-out for her. A criminal trespass warning was issued and the alleged victim advised he wanted to press charges.
A resident of Three Rivers reported there was someone in a blue van driving up and down the streets with the slider door open; video recording the neighborhood.
A caller advised that his boat hit a tree stump and he was stuck in the middle of the lake near the South Shore Unit. The boat was filling with water. A game warden who was notified assured that they would launch as soon as they knew the caller’s location. The man advised that they were in the Four Fingers area. They were advised to put on their life jackets.
An officer at FCI-Three Rivers reported that a male inmate was kicked in the throat and could not breathe. He was transported to the hospital.
A resident on a county road advised that there was a gray car on the side of the road and no one was around it. He was unsure why they left it there. A deputy checked the vehicle and advised that the vehicle must be stolen out of George West. The ignition was popped and there was a screw driver in there. A TRPD officer made contact with the owner and was looking for the person who was supposed to be driving the vehicle.
A woman on Hwy. 72 west advised there was a dead dog in the middle of the road. TX DOT was closed and she wanted it removed.
A Lagarto female advised that a pot belly pig was going into the store trying to bite her.
James Eric Lawhon, 21, of Three Rivers was arrested on Aug. 27 for possession or delivery of drug paraphernalia. Three Rivers Municipal Judge Dawn Benham set bond at $500.
Michael Garces, 33, of George West was arrested on Sept. 2 for credit or debit card abuse. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 Elizabeth Ellis set bond at $15,000.
Macario Martinez, Jr., 46, of George West was arrested on Sept. 4 for theft of property greater than $20; less than $500 by check. Ellis set bond at $1,000.
Brandon Clay Clifton, 33, of George West was arrested on Sept. 4 for possession of a controlled substance, pg 1, less than 1 gr. Ellis set bond at $10,000.
Phillip Alvarez, 44, of George West was arrested on Sept. 5 for driving while intoxicated. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4 Endercio Chapa set bond at $1,000.
Adalberto Vasquez, 38, of Mission was arrested on Aug. 26 for possession of marijuana, greater than 50 lbs. less than 2,000 lbs. He was committed to 10 days per Coastal Bend Regional Restitution Center.
Tamara Jean Blackman, 30, of George West was arrested on Aug. 7 for #1 -disorderly conduct - language for which Chapa set bond at $500; #2 - hinder apprehension/prosecution of known felon for which chapa set bond of $7,500.
Griselia Chapa, aka Chela Chapa, 27, of Zapata was arrested on Sept. 6 for possession of marijuana, greater than 5 lbs.- less than 50 lbs. McMullen County Justice of the Peace James Rayes set bond at $25,000.
Wesley Arron Davis, 21, of George West was arrested on Sept. 8 for driving while intoxicated. Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 Virginia Tanguma set bond at $1,000.
Jeremy Maurice Loranger, 26, of San Antonio was arrested on Sept. 6 for driving while intoxicated. Tanguma set bond at $1,000.
Manuel Rocha, 36, of Three Rivers was arrested on Sept. 6 on a warrant from Karnes Co. for theft of property, greater than or equal to $20, less than $500 by check. Tanguma set bond at $2,500.
Robert Christopher Kendrick, 23, of Pleasanton was arrested on Sept. 6 for possession of marijuana, less than 2 oz. Tanguma set bond at $1,000.
Keith Raymond Martinez, 19, of Corpus Christi was arrested on Sept. 5 for #1 - possession of marijuana, less than 2 oz. for which Tanguma set bond at $1,000; #2 - possession of drug paraphernalia with bond of $500; #3 - possession of controlled substance, pg 3 less than 28 gr. with bond of $2,500.

Britany Ann Webb, 18, of George West was arrested on Aug. 28 for driving while intoxicated for which George West Municipal Judge Patricia Lanford set bond of $3,000 and possession of drug paraphernalia for which Justice of the Peace Jim Lane set bond of $450.
Priscilla Lee Olivarez, 19, of Three Rivers was arrested on Aug. 27 on a warrant from Dallas Co. for larceny. She was released to Dallas Co.
Kelli Ann Jensen, 49, of Sandia was arrested on Aug. 30 for assault by contact. She was released for time served per Ellis.
Lazaro J. Torres, 46, of San Diego was arrested on Aug. 29 for resisting arrest, search or transport. Ellis set bond at $3,500.
