The program will feature performers from across Live Oak County and will include a variety of unique performances ranging from bagpipes to vocalists to choirs.
In addition to several solo acts, the Three Rivers Ecumenical Hand Bell Choir will perform. This unique group is made up of ladies from several different churches in Three Rivers and has been ringing together for a little over a year. The choir, directed by Cindy Hessong, meets once a week to practice and fellowship. “We have a great time practicing and all agree that it’s great stress relief”, said Peggy Benham, assistant director. The choir performs both religious and secular literature and will be performing six numbers on Sunday’s concert.
Among the talented vocalists performing will be Deanna Woodmansee, Krissy Arnst, and Three Rivers native Edith Gregory Brockway. The Three Rivers Bulldog Choir will make their first public appearance for the 2009-2010 school year. Vocalists Peggy Benham and Kenneth Rohrbach will also be performing a duet.
Instrumentalists featured will include pianists Nona Schorp and Cindy Hessong, Zane Schorp on guitar, Layne Lansford, percussionist, and Richard Dockery on bagpipes.
The concert will begin at 2 p.m. and the public is invited and encouraged to attend. There will be no admission charged however donations to the Scholarship Fund are welcome. Immediately following the concert, the Little Acorn Study Club will host a reception for the performers and audience members.
