A Parental Involvement Conference, entitled “Under Construction - Building Successful Students, Parents, Teachers and Schools,” gets underway today (Thursday, Oct. 22) at the Victoria Community Center from 8:30 a.m. to 3p.m.

Registration and tickets are available from each area school campus at a cost of $20. This cost may be paid by the campus. This cost includes a catered lunch.

The opening keynote and luncheon speaker will be Dr. Rita Pierson, a dynamic and engaging personality. Using humor, she keys in to the realities of parent/school and parent/child relationships, keeping her audience in stitches.

Several sessions will be available in Spanish. Breakout sessions on many topics related to parenting school age children will be offered and there will be a great deal of free material.

Exhibitors will be displaying information about their services to parents. Forty-one schools make up the ESC area.
