All three sets were competitive, but the Lady Cats from Skidmore-Tynan continued their impressive streak of going undefeated in district play with a 3-0 win over the Odem Lady Owls on Tuesday night in Skidmore.

The win gives the Lady Cats a record 27-0 streak of straight-set wins against their district foes with just one last regular season district match remaining. The Bloomington Ladycats were in town last night (Friday) to try and stop the streak.

The S-T girls handled the visiting Lady Owls 25-16, 25-17 and a close 25-21 in the final set for the 3-0 victory.

The win improves the Lady Cats’ overall record to 21-7 on the season and 9-0 in district.

Rachel Mengers hit for 11 kills in the match and served four big aces for head coach Judy Whatley.

D’Anne Wilder came up with 13 assists on the night for her teammates. Selina Acosta played well defensively with three blocks along the net and a team-high eight digs.

The junior varsity match had the Lady Cats capturing a 25-11 and 25-18 straight set win in their best of three contest.

The S-T freshman squad went three sets before a winner was decided.

Odem won 2-1 by taking the first set, 25-11, and the third set, 25-23. S-T won the middle set by the score of 25-14.
