The Miller Lady Buc junior varsity volleyball team played the good host on Friday night as the visiting Beeville Lady Trojans captured their best of three match in two straight sets.

The Lady Trojans dominated the Miller girls with a 25-15 first set victory. The second set wasn’t that close as the Beeville girls captured the match with a 25-10 win for a 2-0 victory.

“Kristen Almeida, Alex Gutierrez and Samantha Moya each served very well. The defense completely shut down any offensive threat by Miller,” said Lady Trojan junior varsity coach Chuck Youngblood.

The JV and freshman girls played host to the Ray Lady Texans on Tuesday night and will meet the Port Lavaca Sandies on Friday night, also in Beeville.

The Lady Trojans will wrap up their season on Tuesday with a road match at Gregory-Portland.

The A.C. Jones freshman team also won against the home-standing Miller girls on Friday night to make it a clean sweep.

It was a dominating performance for the freshman team as they captured set one 25-2.

Taylor Lawson served well with a stretch of 19 in a row with three aces thrown into the mix.

Set two of the best of three went to the Lady Trojans, 25-14, for a 2-0 victory.

Brainna Jackson, Krystall Cuellar, Cori Moore and Ryan De La Garza all hit for aces while serving for the Lady Trojans.

“The girls really played great,” said freshman coach Gracy Bryce.
