Following last week’s massacre of the soldiers at Fort Hood, this year’s remembrance has become even more solemn.
Please take a few moments today to honor our veterans for their sacrifice and for allowing us to enjoy our freedoms in this great nation.
Fly the U.S. flag proudly today, and at half mast if possible to remember the tragedy at Fort Hood.
Pray for the victims and their families, as well as the killer. Pray that the appropriate steps will be taken to prevent any more such actions, apparently caused by a radical Muslim terrorist, from occurring again on an American post or base.
Pray for President Obama, his advisers and the military leaders that the necessary and correct decisions will be made soon regarding troop deployments to Afghanistan, and that all our U.S. servicemen and women will be able to return home someday soon from the world’s hot spots, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
Thank the veterans you know and those who you see at today’s ceremonies around the community.
We greatly appreciate all they have done for every one of us living in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
