Game time will be 1:00 pm on Saturday November 28th. The game will be played at the North East ISD Heroes Stadium in San Antonio.
Comfort comes into the contest as District 27-2A runner-up to Blanco. Blanco went Division II. Comfort lost to Bangs (District 8-2A), Devine (District 29-3A), Navarro (District 28-2A), and Fredericksburg (District 8-3A). In district play, Comfort defeated San Antonio Cole 42-28, Universal City Randolph 49-27, San Antonio Brooks Academy 75-0, Harper 44-22, and lost to Blanco 22-0.
Comfort beat early season opponent Navarro in bi-district 52-21, which was a bittersweet victory after having lost to Navarro in the preseason 35-6. Second round opponent Hempstead was defeated 23-10. Hempstead was the third place finisher in their district behind first place Rice Consolidated who defeated the Longhorns last year in the third round. Weimer. Took second place. Both Rice and Weimer went Division II small schools.
Players to watch for the Comfort Bobcats will be Joseph Carlos, Reid Barker and J. Frank Derby. Will Pace came in later in the season and has been putting up respectable stats as well. Carlos is the quarterback with Barker and Derby as starting tailbacks. Carlos has over 1,000 yards passing for the season with 11 passing touchdowns and 7 rushing touchdowns. Comfort finished the season 7-3 and 5-1 in district play.
