Using a mixture of a good inside game with a great outside shooting performance, the Bears took a 27-16 lead after the first eight minutes and just kept building from there.
It was a 50-27 game at the half. The Trojans got seven first half points from post Keanu Guttierrez with five of those coming from the charity stripe. Ryan Vasquez hit for six points in the first two quarters off the bench.
The West Oso speed was matched by the Trojans for the most part, but the Trojans could not match-up in the ball handling, shooting or finishing at the rim areas of the game in which the Bears excel.
The Bears led 80-44 going into the final quarter and almost reached the century mark.
Two Bears hit for 20 plus points as Andre Hayward recorded 25 and Raymond Robinson topped all scorers with 29.
The Trojans were led by Gutierrez’s 14 points. Nick Waters hit a couple of late threes to finish with nine points. Vasquez supplied six. Kevin Dang, Chet Sparks and Adam Garcia all contributed with five points. Jeffery Stafford added four and Zack Castro had two.
The Beeville varsity will be on the road this weekend in Mission to compete in the Mission Holiday tournament.
The next home game will be on Tuesday night when the Alice Coyotes come to town.
The opening tip will be at 5 p.m. for the freshman game.
