I have so many more people to thank for their support of the Joe Barber Memorial Relay For Life held on Nov. 14-15.
Many thanks to Kenneth Wright, who served as master of ceremonies for the opening ceremonies.
Also to the Refugio County Fair Association and County Judge Rene Mascorro’s office for the use of the Fairgrounds and Expo Building.
Butler Oil Tool Co. and Mr. Tommy Butler graciously provided generators and lighting for the entire evening. Mr. Louis Willeke and Refugio Co. Memorial Hospital provided the midnight meal of sandwiches and chips.
Mr. Grady Cartwright-Horizon Sound of Rockport provided his excellent sound system along with his crew all night long. Chase Linscomb kept music and chatter going all night long which helped keep people awake!
Refugio H-E-B store donated bottled water and fruit for the walkers as well as lighters for the luminaria. The Refugio Dairy Queen also donated bottled water.
L&L BBQ cooked the food for the Survivor’s Dinner and David Newman provided cinnamon rolls for breakfast.
The Refugio Police Dept. provided security for the banking hours. Chris Bush and the Refugio Chamber of Commerce helped out with copy machines.
Thanks also to the Refugio County Press for printing all the articles on the relay and helping publicize the event.
Rod Raines and Big 3 L.E.D. advertised the Relay on the big L.E.D. sign downtown.
